A Report from Guinea-Bissau
At the 2009 HCM Board of Director’s meeting, the West Africa Christian Mission in Guinea-Bissau was officially brought into HCM. Luciano Rodrigues, founding Missionary and Church Planter, made a trip to Guinea-Bissau in December 2009 and January 2010 to encourage the churches that he and his wife, Andreia, have planted. Currently they are studying in the United States and preparing for further ministry in that area.

 Baptism in Cacheu River
|
The church in Cacheu has a large group of seriously committed people. Five baptisms were held during this time, two of which are from the Kobian ethnic group. This is the most resistant group among the animist ethnicities in Guinea-Bissau.
The church in Sao Paulo is planting a new mission church, in addition to having constructed a building and started a school for children. They have also sent and supported a member to attend a theological school.
Carlitos has been traveling regularly from Bissau to evangelize the village of Ntuss. This church had the greatest number of people baptized last year. The national convention was held there in April 2010.

 Djendem
| The church in Djendem, which is being planted by men from the Cacheu church, is under opposition from the local sorcerers because many people were coming to Christ. The men from Cacheu are continuing to negotiate with the local government so that the church has the authorization to operate.
